เจ๋งมาก!! สำหรับหนังสือของ Scholastic เล่มนี้ มีอะไรให้ดู ให้อ่านเยอะ ชอบและถูกใจมากค่ะ
เป็นลักษณะสำนวน (Idiom) หรือประมาณ สุภาษิต (Proverb) ของฝรั่ง โดยนำเอาคำพูดเกี่ยวกับสัตว์ 440 แบบ มานำเสนอ พร้อมคำอธิบายสั้นๆ และรูปภาพตลกๆ ให้ดู
ไม่น่าเชื่อ เค้ามีการแบ่งหมวดหมู่สัตว์ให้ด้วยนะคะ
1.Around the house
2.One the farm
3.In the wild
4.On the wing
5.Down by the ground
6.Under the waves
ตัวอย่างเช่น
-I killed two birds with one stone.
(I got two things done with one action.)
-You can't teach an old dog new tricks.
(It's harder for an older person to learn new things.)
-I'm on the hamster wheel.
(My work seems endless.)
-She chickened out.
(She was too afraid to do it.)
-Don't rat on me.
(Don't tell what I did.)
-Hold your horses!
(Be patient!)
-I'm as free as a bird.
(There's nothing I have to do right now.)
